32GB Nexus 7

Androidcommunity.com reports that the 32GB Nexus 7 tablet has been confirmed as it was spotted in Staples Advantage website and makes us believe that the tablet surely exists. The interesting part isn’t the appearance of 32 GB Nexus 7 but it’s price.

Based on information coming from the same web site Staples Advantage gives the new Nexus 7 variant a price of $248.37, which is $3.11 less than the Staples price for 16GB model. Also the same web site is reporting a rumor that 16GB model will be phased out once the 32GB variant is on the scene. And this listing supports the claim. So if you plan to buy the 16 GB Nexus 7, it might be better idea to wait and see if 32 GB model gets an official announcement.

32GB Nexus 7

Currently we believe that it will , but  in the world of tech , nothing is granted until it really happened.  In addition the  big number of  leaks surrounding the 32Gb Nexus 7  makes us confident  that it is just a matter of time for Google to announce it. The listing however says that 32GB Nexus 7 will be available from 18 October, but we are going to agree with AndroidCommunity that it is a placeholder date.

Even staples don’t know when 32 GB Nexus 7 will come out.  Androidcommunity.com reports that Google will ship the new variant on 24 October, which seems a more realistic date than 18 October.

Today, Google officially announced Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Project Butter started off year ago with aim to smoothen the android experience led to upgrade of Jelly Bean. Jelly Bean has better UI response, smother graphics, higher frame rate, Vsync: Screen composition, screen refresh. Triple Buffering — GPU and CPU enhanced in short a performance focussed effort . It has improved touch experience, touch responsiveness and anticipates where fingers will be. It instantly ramps up the CPU based on touch. Going in more details, Systrace – collects data from the kernel.  So we have our utterly butterly smooth Jelly Bean launched.

New Homescreen Interface Management:-

Google has made widgets more intelligent in Jelly Beans. The widgets will automatically just fit itself in proper position and if there is less space on the homescreen then it will automatically resize itself. You also “toss” the apps and widgets by swiping up to get them off the screen. Also dedicated widgets of in-app contents can be added. For example Featured Apps on Google Play Store can be added as widget thus giving user facility to see what they want to see. Lovely isn’t it?

Language and Predictons:-

In Jelly Bean, the dictionaries have been refined and will learn better. The bigrame prediction engine will predict words in better way thus will improve the typing experience through keyboard.  Fonts support for Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, Thai, Persian, Arabic and Hebrew to come.

Google has made a huge improvement in Voice typing by giving completely new feature called Offline Voice Typing. You can type via voice without being connected to the web and that is big improvement. Offline Voice typing is available for English (US) first. Other languages will come soon. Other languages will come soon. Also Touch and swipe gestures + speech for blind user accessibility have been added.

Camera Application:-

In Ice Cream Sanwich, we can take photos with zero lag but now you can view photos really fast too. You can swipe a photo back into view as you are taking photos. You can pinch from a photo to get a multi photo view, and then view a “film strip” quickly. You can also swipe away a photo, and if you make a mistake, do an “undo.”

Android Beam:-

Two new features are introduced in Android Beam. You can send a photo or video by tapping phones. You can also pair and connect phone with Bluetooth device by simply tapping your phone.

New Notification Improvements:-

There is huge overhaul in the notifications have been done in Jelly Bean. Swiping down the notifications tray will show a new look design and one that is much more fully featured. The idea is that notifications are more complete, meaning you don’t have to open up apps. A lot more information can be displayed, say quick look at news stories or in depth Foursquare check-in information, comment or like. You can take actions (like call someone back) right from the notifications. You can also see your gmail inbox right in notifications. Calendar notifications come in, and if you’re running late, for example, you can send an e-mail to the meeting participants, and it includes canned responses. The notifications can be expanded by selectively two finger swipe although you can get rid of them all,  just as in Ice Cream Sandwich. Think of it like either expanding or contracting notifications without the irritation of app opening.

Improved Search:-

Search is quicker and more refined. The search result are shown in card-based answers and can be swiped left to right for normal web search. They have used knowledge graph which is supposed to be a smarter search. It also understands the natural language and speaks back to you. Ask it question, it will show you a response. Voice is pretty sexy than Siri, and looked smarter in demo.

Google Now:-

It will just get you right info at right time automatically. It uses information from your location, calendar and search history and give amazing information to you. It will get better and better as user uses it more. When you are walking down the street, Google Now can update live, showing you nearby restaurants, with a card-based view showing search results and even a link to open up maps to navigate to the restaurant. And it goes one further: say you searched for a flight, Google Now will auto update showing its data and even the terminal and gate you need to board it.

With sports Google Now works out what sort of sports you search for and then builds up a results-based card for you. While travelling it will even know which country you are in and offer up things like intelligent currency exchange cards.

The Google Now service can be accessed in two ways. Either you swipe up from the bottom of the screen or tap on the search box. It behaves like a personalised card which feeds you information relating to everything you search for. Cards increase in accuracy the more you search and Google is promising more types of cards being added as time goes on.

New Apps:-

Google Chrome is now stock browser in Jelly Bean, also maps have been given overhaul, taking huge advantage of gyroscope. The look inside feature that has existed for a while in the maps app can now be controlled using gyroscope, so you can peek around a restaurant you might fancy visiting by just moving the tablet around a bit like an augmented reality app. Maps are now available to be stored offline, meaning no more getting lost when you are out of areas of reception.

Apps can now be updated in smarted way. Instead of downloading whole apk file again, only the parts changed will be updated. This feature will be boon for people having restricted data usage and also will quickly update apps. With introduction of encryption key, paid apps are protected using device-specific keys and thus stop piracy and ensure all money goes to developers.

The Google I/O developer conference begins on June 27, and rumor has it that the tech giant has some pretty exciting stuff to show off. We are curious to know what’s in the store this time by Google.

As far as we know, Google will launch its next version of Android, Jelly Bean. Nexus Tablet is certain to make its debut at the show. It is rumored among the techies that Jelly Bean is just a minor update to the Ice Cream Sandwich. Ice Cream Sandwich was huge update in terms in User Interface and Functionality. But what are the expectations from Jelly Beans?

Integration of Google Chrome: – As Google Chrome beta is already in the Play Store, all android techies are expecting Google will integrate the Chrome browser in the Jelly Beans and thus provide seamless experience of browsing desktop version of Google Chrome.

Battery Life and Power Management:- With huge improvement in Power Management and Battery life in the Ice Cream Sandwich, it is expected there will be further significant improvement in the battery’s efficiency and give users better control over the services.

File Manager: – It is also predicted that Jelly Bean could come up with an in built File Manager for users to manage and organize their files easily without installing third party file managers from Play Store

Faster Upgrades: – One of major hurdle manufactures face is applying their own customizations to Stock AOSP Android. HTC has Sense UI, Samsung has Touch wiz Interface and apparently all other manufactures have their own customizations. That is main reason upgrades are slow which we saw after Ice Cream Sandwich was launched. But now Google is expected to de-couple UI Customizations from the Core OS so that manufactures can apply their customizations much faster and thus consumers will receive updates and upgrades more often.

Lite version of Jelly Bean: – There is huge boom of Cheap Android phones in the market. But because of low end hardware configurations (Lower MHz CPU, Smaller RAM and Less Internal Storage) in such lower end and mid range phones, performance becomes a big issue. Many people are facing lags and eventually performance is affected. We are expecting a lighter version of Android OS for such lower end and mid range smart phones to overcome issue of lags and bad performance.

Also we came across rumor which states that Google Play Store will be revamped with refreshing new UI similar to desktop Play Store in Jelly Beans. Post by Loranz Yousif on Google+ gave first glimpse at what Play Store might look like. Here is preview of the New Play Store:-

New Play Store in Jelly Bean

Across the top of screen is rolling bar of “Popular Applications” and below a scrollable list of “What’s Hot” applications. Also we can see different tabs in the bottom via:-

  1. Movies
  2. Music
  3. Android Apps
  4. Books
  5. A purple rectangle could be anything. It may be Magazine Tab as rumored.

We are unsure whether this is fake photoshoped image or genuine one. It’s fairly easy to fake images and may be the “Resigned Play Store” is also pure rumor. Well, anything is possible, and soon everything will be revealed in few short days when Jelly Beans will be unveiled in Google I/O 2012.

What do you guys think? Is this Fake Play Store? Will all above expectations be met in Jelly Beans? Share your views in comments below.

The launch of the season’s most awaited Android Tablet, Google’s Nexus, seems to be on the horizon. There have been a lot of rumors about this 7-inch tablet ever since the then Google Chairman Eric Schmidt said in December 2011 that in the next six months they plan to market a tablet of the highest quality.

It is being reported that an anonymous company representative confirmed the Nexus tablet to Android Authority during Computex 2012 last week. He also went on as far as to say “it will be here by the end of June.

There’s one thing worth noticing here that the rep didn’t actually say that it would be “available” by the end of June, but just “unveiled”. It is expected that the tablet will be available most likely by mid-July.

With a 1.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, a 7-inch 1280×768 screen, 1GB RAM and the rumored Android 4.1 JellyBean OS all under $200, the company would be in a win-win situation with this tablet.

Keep watching this space to know if the Nexus tablet is launched at the Google I/O on June 27th, about 2 weeks from now.

Google is working with Asus to release a 7 inch Tablet this July. Key feature of this tablet will be :-

  • Nvidia’s Tegra 3 Quad Core processor
  • 7 inch screen
  • ICS (4.0)
  • Wifi (only)

The tablet will feature a seven-inch display and would be more of a direct competitor to Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Samsung’s Galaxy Tabs than Apple’s iPad. Though, many had expected that it will be a dual core tablet in light of Google’s attempt for Cheap Tablet.

The device will probably be sold directly to consumers via the new hardware section in the Google Play Store.

Shipment of 60,0000(approx.) will begin in June.

Expected price of this tablet will be Rs.10,000(200USD).
