Riding on the success of its Canvas series, Micromax is now becoming one of the most successful local Android smartphone makers in Indian market.
On the occasion of Indian Independence day, Micromax started ‘Do the Doodle’ contest, where the winners is said to get a free Micromax Canvas Doodle 2. It posted “Stand a chance to #win the soon to be launched #Micromax #CanvasDoodle 2!” on its Facebook page.
Later in the same day, the regular Micromax leakster MMXNewscaster tweeted a leaked pic of the phone.
Again later in the same day, company’s Facebook page posted a image about the contest saying “This independence Day your imagination can be bigger.” – which may indicate, Doodle 2 is most likely to come with a bigger screen to do bigger sketches and drawing.
The predecessor of Doodle 2, Canvas Doodle A111 is a 5.3 inches capacitive display screen phone with a Note kind looks and S-pen feature. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8225Q quad-core processor supported by an Adreno 203 graphics processor.
Check out another recent teaser my Micromax:
The Canvas Doodle 2 or the Micromax A240, is rumored to feature a 5.7-inch 720p HD display and will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor. The A240 will have a 1GB RAM and 16GB internal memory. It will also include a 12MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP front camera and 2,600 mAh battery. On the software front, it said to run on Android 4.2 Jellybean and will also feature other add-on features like smart pause, flip to mute, etc just like the Canvas 4.
The Cavas Doodle 2 will be officially announced in the coming weeks and is expected to be priced at around Rs 18,000. At such specs and price, it will surely give Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 a run for its money.
