Brief specifications of Xolo Q1000 are :-

  • 1.2 GHz Mediatek 6589 Quad core processor which will ensure smooth lagfree multiple apps,GUI and great multitasking on our beloved Android 4.2 Jellybean.
  • The Dual SIM feature is an added bonus for users, who want to separate personal and professional lifes.

  • The battery is 2100mAh and will be sufficient to keep this device happy for a day with normal tasks.
  • The ROM is 4GB out of which some part will be reserved for OS and some for the user. But we don’t have any info regarding system and user partition data. But another reason to celebrate is user can expand the memory of this device upto 32GB,which is more than enough for a normal user.
  • 8 Megapixel Auto-focus rear camera  will enhance the resolution and the added companion is the BSI sensor which allows all colors to be displayed with true to life images with uniform brightness and contrast and 1.2 Mega Pixel front camera with BSI sensor will capture nice videos and images for 3G video call and Skype.
  • The 5 inch IPS HD Display with 294 ppi is a kind of display used in phablets and will display HD images and videos with  ease and the IPS technology patented by LG has capability of displaying with higher contrast ratio and wider display angle making it ideal for watching videos during longer journeys.
  • The super narrow margin technology (See Image Below)ensures  the device is 2.0 mm which is thinnest device compared to iphone 5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3. we are quite sure female users will be happy with this density as we have observed that female users like devices with thin bezel density.

Image Quality & Samples:

Xolo Q1000 will be integrated with 8 Megapixel rear camera and 1.2 Megapixel front camera and BOTH are with BSI Sensor which results in better picture quality with True colours as compared to Micromax Canvas HD A116.(see image below)

The Canvas HD A116 image has reddish tinge on the image compared to Q1000 image,we feel the BSI improves or the camera sensor is filtering the color elements created in image creating wonderful images compared micromax canvas HD

Performance:

When Comes to performance Xolo Q1000 outperforms Micromax Canvas HD A116 in every way.The Linpack , Antutu & Nenamark 2 scores of the device are higher compared to Micromax Canvas HD(see image below). Hence, its very much clear by checking the result that this device is surely gonna win the hearts of the geeks who admire performance and are also conscious about price.

Our Verdict :- Xolo Q1000 outperforms Micromax Canvas HD A116 in every way and will change the perception of the people regarding XOLO devices. For the price of 14K-15K, this device is definitely going to create confusion in minds of buyers thinking of buying smartphones at this price range.

Intel's first phone the Lava Xolo x900, the legend suppressed
www.AndroidNova.org

April 2012, was the time when Samsung was ready to launch its flagship The Samsung Galaxy S3 and on the other part, Intel announced its first Intel phone based on Atom Processor via Lava International and Xolo, The Lava Xolo X900. Company had claimed Xolo x900 to be the fastest and better then Samsung Galaxy S3 in all respect.

When we got our hands on to xolo x900, we felt company’s claim to be valid in respect of performance of the phone but what we didnt like was :-

  • Phone was launched with Gingerbread
  • Dull Camera quality and now worsened after ICS 4.0.4
  • Locked boot-loaders
  • Poor Battery
  • Users also reported about network dropping problem after ICS update
  • Company claimed Xolo x900′s expandable capacity to be upto 16 GB but we also noticed a card slot present at the back of the phone which is capable of handling 64GB of card easily.
  • Poor Customer Support :- We also faced this problem. We called xolo care and one of their  customer executive said that “they are dispatching xolo x900 now after keeping it for two weeks” and other said ” we have just received your product”.

We thought that company will improve some of the technical problems i.e. software bugs like: camera picture and network problem etc by providing Jellybean update and  users were eagerly looking forward for that.

But, Xolo’s co-owner announced that ” As of Now, Intel has no plans to upgrade Xolo x900 to Jelly Bean and we have no controls over X series phone”.

After getting this news we heard another words from Xolo that they launched another Intel’s Device Xolo X1000 which is based on same board and processor and up-gradable to Jellybean.

On the other side, Samsung proved themselves “The True Brand” by announcing Samsung Galaxy S3 to be upgradable to Android key lime pie or similar versions which was the rival of Xolo x900.

We had also launched a petition to support Xolo x900 users to get what a 22,000 INR phone deserves (now priced at 13-14k). May be xolo or Intel is not upgrading Xolo x900 as to get increased sales for xolo 1000.

Whatever be the reason, think twice before buying next Intel- Xolo which will be leaked tonight exclusively on AndroidNova, Stay tuned .

Google starts shipping Nexus 7 ahead of schedule in India

We all know that Google is the faster search engine available on this planet.
But, today we came to know Google is faster in delivering products to consumers too.We were astonished to find out that Google started shipping nexus 7 a week before its initial delivery dates in India(April 5)..

The tablet was recently launched in India via Google Play for INR 15,999.

We can see below,Google Tablet users tweeting the news of early delivery

Google is shipping these Nexus 7 tablets from Singapore, and has already included both custom duty and shipping in the pricing, so consumers don’t have to worry about extra charges that may be incurred due to govt duties.

With the recent launch of Google Play Movies, already available Google Play Books, consumers also get access to a content ecosystem, which is likely to expand in the coming weeks with the launch of Play Music and Magazines.

For Your Information,Nexus Tablet has specs like 7-inch 1280x800p display, 1GB RAM, Android 4.1 (Android 4.2.2 OTA update available), 1.2GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and 1.2MP front camera.

Young Fame
androidnova.org

Samsung has unveiled two new entry-level smartphones namely the Galaxy Young and Galaxy Fame. Both the devices are powered by Android Jelly Bean (v4.1) and resemble top-of-the-line devices like Galaxy S III and Note II in looks.

Both the handsets look almost similar, the noticeable difference is curvier top and bottom of the Galaxy Fame (above right) while the other one is the Galaxy Young (above left). Since these are low cost handsets, both come with HVGA (480x320p) screen resolution.

The Galaxy Young features a 1GHz processor, 768MB RAM, 3.27-inch TFT display, 4GB internal storage (with microSD support upto 64GB) and a 1,300mAh battery. Galaxy Young also comes with a 3MP rear camera without flash.

The Galaxy Fame sports the same 1 GHz processor 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage (with microSD support upto 64GB) and a 1,300mAh battery. But it comes with a slightly bigger 3.5-inch display and 5 megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash along with a VGA camera at the front for video calling. Fame also comes with an option of NFC for easy file sharing.

The Galaxy Fame will come in pearl white and metallic blue, while the Young will be available in white, deep blue, wine red and metallic silver. Samsung says that both models will be available as single and dual-SIM variants. Thus both the phones combine powerful performance with an essential suite of features and services, all packed within a stylish design.

As of now, there is no word on the pricing or availability of any of the two smartphones, but considering Samsung’s focus on emerging markets, we are pretty sure that these devices would land on Indian shores as well and would be priced competitively. Seems this is just a precursor of what we can expect from Samsung at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona later this month.

Samsung has announced the S7710 Galaxy Xcover 2, a rugged IP67-certified smartphone. This means it is waterproof and is impact and dust resistant. While today’s smartphones may boast of as many pixels as on your television and a processor which is faster than your PC, but they are not great at outdoor use. One drop and you are almost guaranteed of a big repair bill. But that’s not the case with Samsung Xcover 2.

Xcover 2
androidnova.org

Though it looks like a regular Galaxy handset in a very sturdy case, but the Xcover 2 is much more than that. According to Samsung,

“Galaxy Xcover 2 is the ideal smartphone for active explorers who are enjoying outdoor lifestyles and seeking a durable mobile device with essential smartphone capabilities.”

Of course there are other water-resistant phones in the market, including its predecessor, the Galaxy Xcover. But what Xcover 2 offers is its new IP67 certified device can withstand damage if it is immersed in up to 1 metre deep in water for 30 minutes. While dust and sand have no chance of penetrating its surface with a battery cover lock as well as strap holder that the phone provides. Samsung has also added a dedicated camera key and encourages you to go and take pictures underwater with it.

As far as the specifications as a smartphone are considered, Xcover may not match a high end smartphone but its enough to fulfill your smartphone needs while going for an adventure.

Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 key specifications:

  • 4-inch TFT LCD display with 800 x 480 pixels and 233 ppi
  • 1GHz dual-core processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 4GB of on-board storage expandable upto 32GB
  • Android v4.1 aka Jelly Bean
  • 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash
  • VGA front camera
  • WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, A-GPS, Glonass
  • Li-ion 1700mAh battery
  • Dimensions 130.5×67.7×12 mm
  • Weighs 148.5 grams

But what’s interesting is that Xcover 2 was rumored to be launched at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona (February 25-28). But it chose to unveil it just days ahead of the scheduled BlackBerry 10 launch on January 30. It seems Samsung is trying to steal Blackberry’s thunder with this launch.
