Petition against Intel Inside: Unlock Boot-loaders and give Jelly Bean to Xolo X900/ Orange SanDiego / Megafon Mint

To,

Intel Coporation

CC: Lava International, Xolo, Orange and Megafone

I, (your name) have signed a petition addressed to Intel Corporation

Android is an Open Source Project. We all have right to enjoy its openness with timely updates. We all trust Intel and its logo and purchased Xolo X900/ Orange San Diego/ Megafon Mint. But, Intel bounded us by Locking Boot-loaders down as well as showed carelessness in providing timely stable firmware updates like in the case of Jelly Bean. Also, we are not able to use full features which are available in this phone like Intel de-activated sd card slot which is present at back of this phone near battery, FM Radio etc. Now, we appeal Intel to show faith in their customers by fulfilling the above mentioned requests.

Sincerely,

(Your Name)

Update rolling out for Samsung Galaxy Note N-7000 / I9220-I9228
Update rolling out for Samsung Galaxy Note N-7000 / I9220-I9228

Finally, Samsung is rolling out Jelly Bean update to its very first phablet, Galaxy Note N-7000/i9220-I9228. This planned update will directly upgrade Samsung Galaxy Note to Jelly Bean (Android Version 4.1.2) with almost same features as in Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Sammobiles also confirmed about this update and leaked firmware N7000xxls2 is available on their site. This update will be the full premium suite update with latest note 2 applications.

Basic model of Samsung Galaxy note is integrated with Exynos 4 and a Dual-core 1.4 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor with 5.3″ inch display (800 X 1280 pixels,285 ppi) super amoled screen. Its 8mp rear camera is capable of recording full HD videos while 2 mp front camera can record decent videos.

It is obvious that carrier will take time in pushing update while network unlocked users will receive their update soon. If you are very eager to taste Jelly Bean, You can manually update your phone with firmware available at Sam-mobiles. It is recommended to take a backup of your phone before flashing firmware to avoid any data loss due to any error.

Sony has released their list for xperia smartphones who are going to receive future updates in 2013.  Many xperia users are disappointed with them as Sony xperia U, Xperia Sola etc. will not be updated to Jelly Bean and future android verions. Sony explained by giving following explanation,

The quality of Xperia’s software experience is dependent on a number of factors including: screen resolution, hardware platform and RAM. In the case of Xperia go, this combination came together in a way that meant the user experience running JB was not adversely affected.

Unfortunately, in the case of Xperia tipo, Xperia miro , Xperia U and Xperia sola this wasn’t the case – so we made the decision to keep them on Ice Cream Sandwich.”

Sony revealed its Jelly bean firmware candidates
Sony revealed its Jelly bean firmware candidates

Well, sony thinks that consumers are fool. WE consumers are much more aware than before.

Xperia u and xperia sola both are powered by 1ghz dual core processor with Mali-400 GPU. SO, that means sony wants to say that newer but slower phone, Xperia J powered by 1ghz single core processor can handle Jelly bean but more powerfull, xperia u  powered by 1ghz Dual Core Processor can not handle Jelly Bean. Very, Strange explanation by sony.

Also, Sony Xperia U , Miro, Sola, tipo are 2012 NXT series devices. According to Sony, 2012 launched devices can not run 2012 android version.

Sony’s decision for not updating these devices is very disappointing which will definitely harm Sony’s market share.
