ChromeBook was a product launched by Google at I/O 2011, and though it has been getting lukewarm responses, it may be possible that Google has a newly advanced model under their sleeve, like a secret weapon, waiting to be unveiled this year. It might as well pose threats for other commercial laptops and signify ChromeBook’s stand in the laptop market.

Well then of course is the Nexus range of phones, there always lies a possibility that Google will give slight indications about its future models. With the Google Nexus 4 and 7 showing good amount of sales, this is indeed credible.

Google might also unveil a social gaming platform, similar to the App Center for iOS, which will allow users to play live with other players. And this will considerably impact the Android Games market, with MMO( Massive Multiplayer Online ) games for Android coming into focus. Games like Temple Run 2 and Subway Surfers being huge hits, commercial game developers like Gameloft will be able to capitalize on this idea.

Lots of expectations from Google I/O 2013, cos you know, we all love Google ! Let’s just wait and watch!

It nearly two weeks left for the Google I/O which is scheduled on the 15th of May. Seeing the current events of leaks happening before launch event (Nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy S4), it was almost evident that leaked pictures were to be out soon. And here it is! The much rumored and talked out Google X Phone, made in collaboration with Motorola after the latter had been taken over by Google for a whopping $ 12.4 billion is out leaked by two sources namely Evleaks and a gadget blog tinthe.tn. As for the leaks from Evleaks the phone is covered or wrapped around with a black box to protect its true identity. However Tinthe have managed to show us the actual version of the smartphone. With the front and back seen, we get an overall idea of the phone. The leaks match when put up against each other, thus confirming the credibility of the leaks.

Things we know as of now about the X phone:

1. Dimensions: Its dimensions supposedly are 4.7 inch screen with an edge-to-edge screen technology. The screen even boasts of a HD resolution (720p/1080p).

2. Specifications: 2 GB RAM, 32 GB memory, the screen specs etc are the few features which have been out till now.

3. Android 4.3: Seeing the images one can conclude that an entirely new OS (Android Key Lime Pie 5.0) is not on the cards. However an upgrade to the currently running Android 4.2.2 as predicted earlier, to Android 4.3 is quite likely.

4. Small customizations have been made on the Android skin using motoblur’s pre installed widgets on previous Motorola devices (the clock widget etc…)

5. It has been codenamed ‘Ghost’ .Even the Nexus 4 was codenamed ‘mako’.

6. The Motorola X phone will presumably be available in 25 colours.

In conclusion, the polycarbonate unibody really looks great on the Motorola X phone. With the Google I/O conference coming up in few days, it will be interesting to see how many of these predictions/rumors actually come true? And the big question: is the Google X phone the next NEXUS? Well only time will tell.

Till then keep checking AndroidNova.org  :D

Well, we do have an intresting news for everyone out there who are waiting for this event. Earlier today, Google Inc. posted a detailed schedule of the complete event this year.

The event would be a 3-day event that would be held from May 15, 2013 to May 17, 2013.

This time, it is expected that Android 5.0 “Key Lime Pie” has been delayed as many manufacturers failed to provide Android 4.2.2 to its users, instead a major Android Jelly Bean update v4.3 is expected. Also Crome and Cromebooks are seem to be a major attraction for this year’s event.

Google Babel messenger
Www.AndroidNova.org

The rumoured Google Babel messenger is sought to be real and more details about it have been found in a javascript file hosted on Gmail servers, The file which was for Google internal memo leaked to the outside world due to Google’s popular email platform called G-mail. Folks at Google Operating System blog were first to spot this.

As we can expect, Google is currently dogfooding Google Babel internally. Like Facebook is dogfooding its Android app for its developers ,Google is always dogfooding its products before use. Dogfooding means a technique in which compony forces its employees to thoroughly use their own products, rather than using other company’s similar products.

An image link showing a promo screenshot of Google Babel was also spotted by GOS, but has now been removed by Google (screenshot below).

The JS file reveals that Google Babel is the new messenger from Google (as we already knew, thanks to all the leaks and rumours).

The file and the above picture also details some of the new features that we can expect in Google Babel and are not present in the current Google Talk/ Chat.

  • Access the same conversation list from anywhere
  • A new, conversation-based UI
  • Advanced group conversations
  • Send pictures
  • Improved notifications across devices

As you can read in the screenshot of the JS file – “Babel is Google’s new messenger with clients for Android, iOS, Chrome, Google+ and Gmail” – Google is going to release clients for Android, Chrome and iOS and Babel will also be integrated in Google+ and Gmail.

So, all we have to do now is wait for the official debut at Google I/O 2013 ,But anyways devs and enthusiasts always have the backdoor access first :)
