After launching the HTC Butterfly/DNA last month, HTC is once again looking to steal the show with another ultra high-res screen smartphone but with a more compact size this time. The possibly next flagship device by HTC, has so far been known by its codename, M7. For now, we shall call it the HTC M7.
The HTC M7 is supposedly set for MWC 2013 unveiling, late February next year, also being one of the first full HD handsets in the 4.7-inch range, reporting a pixel density of 468ppi (that’s about 40% higher than the iPhone 5, with which it is supposed to share the optical lamination technology). They call it the “SoLux display”, which is set to offer a number of improvements over the previous generation Super LCD2, boosting viewing angles, outdoor visibility, and color accuracy.
As far as the hardware specifications are concerned, the HTC M7 will come with a quad-core 1.7 GHz Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32 GB of internal flash storage. The camera sensor will have 13MP resolution, while the lens comes with an improved f/2.0 aperture capable of super slow-mo and video HDR in 1080p. This new camera sensor has been dubbed as Cinesensor, according to reports. That’s some improvement considering the last flagship One X/X+ came with a 8MP camera shooter coupled with a f/2.2 aperture lens. The 2MP front-facing camera is also capable of 1080p video recording.
As for the device connectivity, the HTC M7 will support LTE up to 42Mbps, along with the new 802.11 ac wireless standard, whose theoretical throughput is 3X that of 802.11n WLAN networks.
In terms of sound quality, the HTC M7 is said to offer a dedicated, Beats-designed amplifier, as well as a feature to increase call clarity called Clear Words. Audio output should come courtesy of stereo speakers. It will be powered by a 2300mAh battery, which should just be enough, although we would have preferred a better one.
On the software side of things, the HTC M7 will come with Android 4.1 JellyBean out of the box, skinned with HTC’s proprietary Sense 5 UX.
As far as the availability goes, the HTC M7 is said to eventually become available on the two major US carriers: Verizon and Sprint, atleast for now. That’s all we have regarding the HTC M7. Stay tuned to www.androidnova.org for more on the same.
cheers and have a nice day
