Samsung will use Intel Atom processor in its upcoming 10 inch tablet

Intel  is  finally getting hold of the mobile device processor market. The new customer for Intel Atom processor is, none other than worlds biggest smartphone maker known to us as Samsung.

According to the latest benchmarks utility, Samsung is using the Intel Atom Z2560 Clover Trail+ dual-core processor for its new 10-inch tablet

The device model number is  GT-P5200, the tablet has been code-named Santos, the same codename which was associated with Samsung’s rumoured 10-inch tablet.

The benchmark listing also reveals the processor will be running at 1.6GHz and will come with PowerVR SGX 544 MP2 GPU. Other features of the tablet will include 10.1-inch WXGA (1280×800) display and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Apart from the GT-P5200 listing, a benchmark listing for GT-P5210 has also been release which suggests a Wi-Fi only version of the tablet. The device in the benchmarks table has Android 4.2.2 running which suggests us that this device may run on the latest version of Android with Touchwiz (Samsung proprietary UI)

Some main details were not confirmed in these benchmark listings but a previous report had suggested that this tablet will come with 5MP rear camera and 16/ 32GB of internal storage.

Apart from the obvious tablet details leak, the presence of an Intel Atom processor in Samsung’s Android tablet . Intel has been struggling to get bigger manufacturers use their processor instead of those manufactured by ARM holdings. Things are beginning to change for Intel as many manufacturers like Asus use Atom processor in Fonepad and now Samsung. We hope that Intel has the potential and the infrastructure to be a major producer of mobile device processors.

Whatever Asus does it does it in style. Asus the Taiwanese Electronic giant is back with a bang. So what the Asus is going to release in what we call a revolutionary in the field of the display as well as the tablet technology. We all know how theyoum display from Samsung caught the eyes of the tech enthusiasts . Though Youm failed to enter the market as a finished product. Asus recently posted the Computex 2013 teaser video . The video showed  what new products Asus would launch this year.

First of all what caught my attention is the dual sided display hybrid tab from Asus (That’s a long inherited category) . The tab is a like a normal laptop with keyboard but when screen button is pressed the display from other side gets activated .Then the screen could be detached to use it like a tab. Pretty cool isn’t it?  It basically reminded me of cool tab that Robert Downey Jr used in Iron Man. One could clearly see that its a Windows device (Windows 8 OS) though we expected an Android device(like the previous Transformer). Specs about the tab are yet to be reveled, but still that cool tab is buzzing all around the internet.

Another tab that was showcased in the trailer was the 7 incher tab with a stylus. Yes a tab with a stylus (Now that’s what I call competing to Samsung). It seems to be an Android device. Yet again the specs will be revealed on Asus Comptutex June 2013. So waiting for it is the only option for us. Lets see if Asus could makes some ripple in the sea after the mega storm of Google IO 2013(AndroidNova will provide live coverage towards Google IO).

Here is the teaser trailer released by Asus about Computex. Hope you would love it.

Samsung will launch two Galaxy ‘Mega’ smartphones this year

Our friendly blog SamMobile is reporting that Samsung is planning to launch two ‘Galaxy Mega’ smartphones this year. Apparently the Korean manufacturer has decided to name its upcoming giant-screen phone as Galaxy Mega, which will join company’s Note-series in the battle for phablets.

According to the report, Samsung will introduce 5.8-inch and 6.3-inch display phones in this Mega series and the 5.8-inch GT-9152 is likely to support dual-SIM connectivity (Duos Branding). There seems to be no information about 6.3-inch GT-I9200 dual-SIM version.

SamMobile adds that Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 will be sold in white colour and will be available around (May 27 – June 2), while Galaxy Mega 6.3 will come in both black and white colours around the week 25 (June 17- June 23).

Samsung successfully started and accomplished their sales by introducing the trend of super-large screen smartphones with original Galaxy Note, which was later joined by Galaxy Note II and Galaxy Grand and now the company seems to be taking it to a new level. It remains to be seen whether consumers will indeed be interested in smartphone with a display as large as 6.3-inches.We don’t know how much is Samsung going to stretch the Display sizes on its device. We hope so apparel/garment manufacturers make the shirt/ pants pockets big enough, so that our 6.8 inch phablet can easily fit in them, without causing much discomfort to its users. :)

Have a nice day

LG may have Acquired webOS From HP to Power their SmartTV’s

LG may have just announced that it has acquired the much-troubled webOS from HP as reported by CNET. But instead of using this unproven mobile OS to power smartphones or tablets, it’s planning to roll out smart TVs which will make use of the OS.

The deal which may be kept secret, will see LG take control of the source code for webOS, along with “related documentation, engineering talent, and related webOS websites.” It also gets licenses from HP for use with its WebOS products, along with a slew of patents HP obtained from Palm. There’s no word on how much the deal was worth. As, all the company officials kept mum when we emailed regarding this topic.

The news gives emphasis to rumors which sprang up last year, claiming that LG was working on a range of TVs which used webOS. Clearly, LG has its eye on the software for some time.

It’s the proper end of a rather bad period in the life of webOS, which has been badly managed by HP,like they managed the minicomputer project during Steve Wozniak as an Engineer days back in 60′s. In fact, insiders reported last year that webOS was doomed from the outset at HP because “there were neither the right leaders nor the right engineers to do the job.” Hopefully LG can promise WebOS by  making its life good.

Samsung to release a budget tablet to compete Asus's Nexus7
Samsung to release a budget tablet to compete Asus's Nexus7

After the launch of Acer Iconia B1 in CES 2013 and recent launch of Asus budget Memo Pad it was quite obvious that the bigwigs will definitely interested to make their roots deep into the price sensitive below 200$ world. This world is currently  dominated by the local or the Chinese manufacturers  who has awful after sales service and support.

If numbers have to be considered the below 200$ market is bigger than what the top of the line market. Thus it is tempting for the bigwigs to enter this blooming budget tablet market. After Asus and Acer now finally Samsung is thinking to jump into this market by launching a 7 incher budget tab.

Yes, considering the rumors to be true Samsung will release this budget tab along with other tabs like NOTE 8.0 at Mobile World Congress (MWC) at Barcelona Spain on February end. Not much about the hardware is specified but it has to be at least a Dual Core and posses a GigaByte of Ram to challenge the Nexus.  This Tab will be priced at about 150$ almost 50$ cheaper than Nexus 7. Don’t expect a high megapixel camera at this price point, but expect awesome experiences with this tab.

If  Samsung releases it at this price point ,it will definitely kick out cheap Chinese tablets out of the market that have pathetic after sales support. With launch of this tab it will take war of tab’s to next level. We consumers are the only one that would be benefited with this.

Wishtel India to launch Linux Based Tablet-Netbook
Wishtel India to launch Linux Based Tablet-Netbook

Wishtel India, one of the Datawind competitor is planning to launch a low cost Linux Tablet. According to our sources the tablet will have an Arm Architecture and will run the Linux. Insiders told us that they are testing the Tablet with different Linux flavors, and would Ubuntu is their first priority. Though there are plenty of Linux flavors in the world , but Ubuntu is considered as best of them.

“Our objective as a technology and manufacturing company is to create affordable range of products that can contribute to society by extending education for free and without boundaries,” Wishtel CEO Milind Shah said in a statement.

The tablet would be named as PrithV. It will have a Tablet and a Netbook model. The tablet model will cost about 3000 bucks(Indian Rupees) approx 50US$, While the Netbook will costs 6000 (Indian Rupees) approx 120US$.

Last year Wishtel lost the bid to the Datawind for the Akash tablet put by Indian Government. Wishtel says  ”it will participate in the bidding for second round when the government floats a tender.”

“We intend to offer our solutions to universities and schools worldwide and empower every student with a PC enabling them to learn and educate themselves beyond textbooks, access and create their own knowledge,” Shah said.

The platform is being developed jointly by Wishtel and Homi Bhabha National Institute(One of the best education institute in India). PrithV will  supports 85 global languages which include 23 Indian languages. It also comes loaded with educational suite to offer self learning software for pre-primary, tertiary and higher education, it said.

Now with such innovations are being made for students, its just a matter of time that books gonna be replaced by Tablets. And that would definately increase the education standard all across the India. Well that’s what we say “Padhenga India tabhi toh badhenga India”.

Androidcommunity.com reports a new 10” Android tablet is going to appear in the market which would be named as MediaPad 10 Link, by Huawei based on information from Bluetooth 3.0 and WIFI certification documents but currently we don’t have much information about the device but let’s have a look to the current information androidcommunity.com is offering us.

First of all it appears that there will be three different versions of MediaPad 10 Link and it will come in different model numbers – S10-201w, S10-20u and S10-202u, currently we don’t know the exact disparity between the models, but as androidcommunity.com suspects, we do the same, it’s possible that some of the models will come with support for mobile data networks while one might be Wi-Fi only version.

Androidcommunity’s reports based on the same documents specify that the device has been certified for dual band 2.4/5.x GHZ Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0. Based on the same documents the Huawei MediaPad 10 Link will have a 10 inch IPS LCD screen displaying at an HD resolution, but specifics weren’t mentioned. The tablet is expected to run an unspecified version of Android, androidcommunity guessing that will be Jelly Bean. Finally we have an image of the Tablet offered by the Bluetooth certification.
