Samsung will use Intel Atom processor in its upcoming 10 inch tablet

Intel  is  finally getting hold of the mobile device processor market. The new customer for Intel Atom processor is, none other than worlds biggest smartphone maker known to us as Samsung.

According to the latest benchmarks utility, Samsung is using the Intel Atom Z2560 Clover Trail+ dual-core processor for its new 10-inch tablet

The device model number is  GT-P5200, the tablet has been code-named Santos, the same codename which was associated with Samsung’s rumoured 10-inch tablet.

The benchmark listing also reveals the processor will be running at 1.6GHz and will come with PowerVR SGX 544 MP2 GPU. Other features of the tablet will include 10.1-inch WXGA (1280×800) display and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Apart from the GT-P5200 listing, a benchmark listing for GT-P5210 has also been release which suggests a Wi-Fi only version of the tablet. The device in the benchmarks table has Android 4.2.2 running which suggests us that this device may run on the latest version of Android with Touchwiz (Samsung proprietary UI)

Some main details were not confirmed in these benchmark listings but a previous report had suggested that this tablet will come with 5MP rear camera and 16/ 32GB of internal storage.

Apart from the obvious tablet details leak, the presence of an Intel Atom processor in Samsung’s Android tablet . Intel has been struggling to get bigger manufacturers use their processor instead of those manufactured by ARM holdings. Things are beginning to change for Intel as many manufacturers like Asus use Atom processor in Fonepad and now Samsung. We hope that Intel has the potential and the infrastructure to be a major producer of mobile device processors.

Now, the video compressing technology is going to another level as Google has is nearly done with VP9 technology.
At its Google I/O conference Wednesday, company employees made the case for the royalty-free, open-source technology as a higher-quality alternative to today’s dominant video codec, H.264. Moving to VP9 — available now in testing on Chrome and YouTube — will save bandwidth costs.

“If you adopt VP9, as you can very quickly, you’ll have tremendous advantages over anyone else out there using H.264 or VP8, (its predecessor),” said VP9 engineer Ronald Bultje in a talk here at Google’s developer conference. “You can save about 50 percent of bandwidth by encoding your video with VP9 vs. H.264.”
While VP9 specifications will finalized on 17th June, but the developers can use it free of cost by enabling it through Chrome’s about flags mechanism and visting YouTube VP9 Channel.
Halving network usage is a great incentive to adopt VP9, but there are a lot of caveats.
One of the biggest problem is that the Google is moving very fast. But the web browsers which are there in the PC’s are easy to upgrade. But it’s harder and slow process to built hardware for new video decode in chips for mobile without draining battery life. The industry has barely coped with VP9′s predecessor VP8 which was launched 3 years before.
Another big issue with VP9 isn’t competing only against H.264 a codec which is about an decade old. It also must reckon with HEVC, aka H.265, a standard that’s now complete and that has the potential to spread as widely as H.264.
Just as VP9 doubles the image quality over VP8 for a given number of bits per second — the bit rate — H.265 doubles the H.264 quality.
But there’s another big part of the VP9 sales pitch: no royalty payments. VP9 is free to use, unlike H.264. HEVC/H.265 also will be free to use once the licensing organization MPEG LA finishes up its patent royalty plans. Google sees that as an unacceptable financial burden for startups, programmers, schools, and others who might want to launch a video project on the Internet. Once Google finishes the VP9 bitstream specification in June, it will turn its attention to performance optimizations, such as software that speeds video encoding and decoding.

Samsung Galaxy tab 3 - AndroidNova.org
Samsung Galaxy tab 3 - AndroidNova.org

Aha !! as the title seems to be questioning same is my thinking……

Samsung recently announced its new TAB named to be SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 3 P3200(cellular) / 3210(WiFi), but you will know why it doesn’t seem to be so new as you,me and the whole of the world would have expected it to be.

Here is why:

WHAT’S NEW?
-NEW DESIGN
-A FRONT FACING CAMERA
-Android JB out of the BOX

WHAT’S OLD?
-EVERYTHING else…

Yes, you guys read it correct, everything else is old with the NEW Galaxy Tab 3.

This is almost same but just li’l bit more i.e just 200mhz more of cpu.
-1.2 Ghz dual core processor.
Though we yet don’t know about which SOC it may possess.

The same old non classy, non modern screen res!
-1024×600 for a new generation tablet. Damn Sammy thats just low profile….with a ppi of just 170 which is not at all an improvement from the older TAB 2.

The same old camera
-3.15 megapixels but just small addition kinda useful though is, this time its an AUTO-FOCUS camera.

The same old ram the same old storage.
-1gb RAM, 8/16GB internal storage

So just adding a new design, an auto-focus camera and a front facing camera makes it deserving to be named TAB 3? HELL NO!

In a time where HD / FULL HD screens are the trend, an era where quad core processors have become common everywhere. “Samsung, y u so old fashioned??”

Anyways the device as far as the specs are concerned, as far as we know about it, it doesn’t seem to be a valuable upgrade over TAB 2.

Stay tuned with AndroidNova because we ain’t gods here, there are very high chances that the specification we’ve learned may be wrong. So TAB 2 users u don’t need to be envy of the TAB 3 because, i tell you guys!… it ain’t no shit better than yours

First Day Event Summary of Google I/O

First Day Event Summary of Google I/O

AndroidNova.org proudly brings you a summary of what;s launched/covered at Google I/O conference on 15 may 2013.Hold a deep breath as Google Entertains you with their breathtaking updates.Lets start the summary from Google Play Game services.

Google Made the  Games much more better

www.AndroidNova.org

Any gaming platform has its own social network, and Google’s cannot be left behind. Your Play Games identity will be managed by—you guessed it—Google+, but that’ll bring a whole bunch of social features to the table. The new app includes matchmaking and mulitplayer game options, an achievement system, saves that sync between devices linked to your account, and leaderboards in both “global” and “friends only” flavors. Basically, everything you’d expect to find rolled into a console gaming experience, for this generation anyway.

Of course, these features will only apply to Play-powered games, which will be tagged with a little controller-shaped badge for your identification convenience. Google Play Games will be lauching to Froyo+ device today, via a Google services update.

Better Google Maps with great battery backup and awesomely accurate location service

www.AndroidNova.org

Fused Location Provider is a new feature present in Google maps which will use all your phone’s sensors to find your location. Google’s claims that the location mode will use less than one percent of batter per hour when activated. However, we don’t know what  battery capacity Google’s talking about, and also that it would be an awesome achievement.

Second best about maps is improved geofencing. This is a an extreme leap in the app current update. since it will let your phone know when you enter an area that it should turn on functions, or perform certain tasks, but Google didn’t say much more than that it’s working on it. It’s been a big need on Android for a while now, though, so it’s encouraging.

And lastly is a smart detection of activity, which means your accelerometer will know when you’re walking, running, biking, or driving. Nice feature for people interested in activites where enormous movement is involved.

Google Play Music Subscriptions

www.Androidnova.org

You can now buy a music subscription from Google.Google Play Music subscription  launches in the US today. It costs $10 per month. Everybody gets a 30-day free trial, if you are early birdie then only 8$.

During today’s Google I/O keynote, Google introduced All Access, which it is better for music discovery than its competitors like spotify. At first, it seems like a simple on-demand-meets-radio service with the personalization options you would expect. It works on phones, tablets and web browsers.

From a design and UX perspective, the innovation comes from the degree to which it’s easy to switch between the hands-on and hands-off experiences. If you don’t know what you want to listen to you can just hit “Listen Now” and start listening to something like we do for FM Radios or internet Radios ,”hear whats being played on air”.

The best part of the offer is You can get to keep the awesome features that came with Google Music. They’re totally integrated. It’s on-demand music, radio, and online storage locker for your personal collection all in one place.that’s icing on the chocalate cake for us

Google has never tried  a streaming music answer to services like Spotify and SoundCloud. Google has the infrastructure to make this sound service a success. We’ll have to wait and see which service comes out on top.

Recon Instrument’s Jet: Google Glass by a third party manufacturer

www.AndroidNova.org

Three years ago Recon Instruments came out with one of the first goggles with a HUD.  And today at I/O, Recon is debuting the Jet, a Google Glass-like set of shades that the company says is comparable to a tablet or smartphone (or Glass).

We don’t have much specifications about Jet other than a set of specs that include:

Wi-Fi, GPS, a dual-core processor, ANT+, Bluetooth, GPS, a HD camera and multiple sensors.Recon claims to have native apps built that allow users to browse the web, stream video, connect to Facebook, keep track of your activities and the like.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Oppa Google Style!!!

www.AndroidNova.org

Whatever Google does it does that in style. Yeah that what it proved with the Google Layered Samsung Galaxy S4 ie S4 Google Edition. If you have been an regular and advanced android user then you might have noticed that bloatwares like Touchwiz ,Htc Sense slow you phone down. Google understood this and released it own version of the Samsung Galaxy S4. Yes. The samsung galaxy S4 is the new Nexus. The phone will be launched on June and will comprise of latest Android 4.2 Jellybean.

The new S4 with pure Google costs $649. It will be available on Google playstore from June. Google Play for Education

www.AndroidNova.org

Google Play for Education sorts apps by grade level and subject matter, making it easy for teachers to find exactly what they want to teach to their student. It can also push content to any associated tablets—think books, lessons, and relevant YouTube videos—all at once, through the same mechanism.

But this feature requires every student to have a Google Account, which means they’re more likely to use Google’s other services and become entangled in Google’s cloud environment. It would be insanely wrong to run Play for Education without student accounts, and there’s nothing wrong with marketing your products to people freely. But it’s worth noting that the sooner you start leaning on Google for your apps and content, the harder it is to switch down the line if you’re so inclined.

Google Play for Education launches this fall , while app submissions will be accepted as soon as this summer.

Google Hangouts the new era of unified messaging

The long-speculated Babel all-in-one chat service has finally been revealed as Hangouts.

Google Talk, Hangouts, Voice, Google+ messenger: all of it is finally integrated into one monster of a unified chat service. Taking on the Google Hangouts name does make sense, too, since Google has been recently for trying to add as many users onto Google+ as they can.

Users finally get a synchronized chat across virtually every single one of your devices, with the ability to go back through chat history, delete messages, and grab files on every single one of them. You can hold group chats with any number of friends, and just like the Hangouts you know and love, you can also move straight into video chat from the text based or image based hangout.

What’s more, the new Hangout version will be hitting multiple platforms, coming  on Android, Chrome, iOS and of Gmail.Sorry! blackberry users.

The new Hangouts app will be available Wednesday for Android devices, iOS devices, and on the search company’s Chrome browser. It integrates Google Talk, Google + Messenger, and Google’s original Hangout video chat service.

The hangout boast a large list of features that would make the whatsapp, FaceTime, iMessage a poor competitor. Most important feature is that its free, Google we just love you. Video calls make Hangouts more fun. Hangout allow turning any conversation into a video call with up to 10 friends.

Lets see if Apple sues it for using Facetime concepts.
