Facebook Phone Rumored Concept

After gathering huge success worldwide as a Social networking Website, Facebook is preparing itself to venture into smartphones field,yes this isn’t a myth.Facebook is in the process of readying itself joining in competition with ,Apple,Google,Microsoft.

According to some rumors and news on the Internet; Social networking giant Facebook is reportedly working with Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC to produce its own brand of mobile phone. According to people involved in these matters, Facebook has already hired former Apple Inc. employees who are believed to be working with HTC on the new project.

Following are the features which we can expect in the Facebook Phone.

Operating System:

The phone will run on a modified version of Google’s Android operating system jointly created by Facebook and HTC. The phone will offer stronger integration with FB’s features than its currently available form in various operating systems like Android, iOS, BlackBerry, and other smartphones.

In sync with FB site

The Facebook smartphone which is expected to have Google’s Android operating system will integrate all of the features and functions available on the social networking site. This means that it will be a fully Facebook branded phone and not like just another Facebook optimized HTC phone.

The entire Facebook’s features will be on the smartphone, where the phone’s contacts, messages and photos can go in sync into a user’s Facebook friends, messages and photos.

iPhone features

Reports say that Facebook has hired ex-Apple employees,who were present in Apple’s IPhone Development to work on this project, which many tech experts believe that it may have many features inspired from the iPhone technology.

How will it look

According to reports, in terms of hardware and looks the phone is expected to appear similar to recent Android and Windows Phone. This smartphone is likely to have a large touchscreen with few buttons. The phone’s camera is also expected to be of very high quality and resolution.

This unnamed Facebook phone is expected to be launched in mid-2013.

A survey to gauge UK Smartphone Consumer Interest on ‘FB Smartphone’ reported that “50 percent of those who participated in the survey said they would ‘never’ buy a Facebook phone”.This maybe a bad news for FB, who is struggling to get into already crowded smartphone market dominance war between Google,Apple,Blackberry and Microsoft.Only time will tell us how long the FB’s social dominance era continues.

However we have the latest Update from Facebook Founder & CEO Mr. Mark Zuckerberg who has put down the above news by stating, ”Building out a whole smartphone wouldn’t really make much sense for us to do”

Google never ceases to amaze! After announcing Google Glass and Nexus 7 at Google I/O in June, Google has now come up with its own ultra high speed internet service, Google Fiber, which will offer – wait for it – a whopping One Gigabit per Second speed.

Google Inc made its entry into the market for bundled Internet and television services on Thursday, promising access speeds more than 100 times faster than those of traditional US cable and telecommunications companies.

The web search giant unveiled its ultra-high speed Google Fiber service in Kansas City, Missouri, and could start installations in September.

Google fiber would come with different monthly plans. Lets take a look at the $120/month plan which should be The Full Google Experience as the website sports.

The package includes:

1. TV Box

TV Box will provide access to live TV, on-demand shows, and Internet content. Every TV Box is HD-ready, so there are no extra monthly fees to watch HD

2. Network Box

Network Box provides access to Google Fiber all over your
home by directly connecting to one of the four 1 Gbps Ethernet ports, or by accessing the high speed Wi-Fi. It also provides safety with the gigabit firewall.

3. Storage Box

The Storage Box comes with two terabytes of storage. With that space you can record all your favorite TV shows without ever worrying about having enough
space. Add your own photos, videos, and music and access them from any device in your home.

4. A Remote (Nexus 7 Tab !)Yes! The Nexus 7 tab is the remote that comes with the package.

5. A whole lot of channels and more. Click here to check the whole list. It also comes with One Terabyte of Cloud Space.

Google Fiber’s ultra high-speed connections and television offerings are aimed at surpassing those of current providers, allowing users to search live channels, Netflix, YouTube, recorded shows and tens of thousands of hours of on-demand programming.

The package includes popular networks owned by major media companies such as Comcast Corp’s NBC Universal, Discovery Communications and Viacom Inc. Premium movie networks are available from Liberty Media’s Starz for an extra fee. But it excludes several major TV names, such as News Corp’s Fox cable channels; Time Warner networks like CNN, TNT and TBS, as well as Walt Disney Co cable channels like ESPN and Disney children networks.

Google Fiber includes features such as the ability to record eight TV shows at a time and store up to 500 hours of high definition programming.

Google is charging a $300 installation fee, saying consumers should treat it as a “home improvement” cost. However with a 2 years contract the installation fees can be waived off.

Residents of the Kansas-Missouri border can pre register here.

Consumers must pay $10 to register their household online for service. About 50 “neighbors” will need to register in order for their area to be eligible for installation services, according to Google executives.

Recently researchers at Black Hat Security Conference, held at Las Vegas, reveals the security loophole in android smartphones..

Experts demonstrated the security breach of delivering malicious softwares and code using a new latest revealed features named Near Field Communication(NFC).NFC is already present is recently launched devices such as Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC one X.

Security flaws arises using NFC by jst placing the device few centimeters away from the hacked device , and the job is done ..!!
Complete data including photos contacts and even payment related transactions can be affected using NFC.This can be done by simply deploying hidden reader to snatch the data, from an NFC-enabled card in someone’s pocket by swiping a reader very close to the card.

Another gap in android security was availed by Charlie Miller (reasearcher at Accuvant). Which implements the replacing of a tag of a website which ws functioned to direct to the some other page , by a tag which would redirect to the malicious website and may compromise your phone in terms of protection.

They also figured out the way to design the device which can easily do the job for you ..
Experts further added , this postage stamp sized device could be placed at crowdy public places and when the device holder passby , the phone is highjacked without any any user interaction.

So better beware of your surrounding …You can also be Victim of NFC-Jacking …!!

The only best possible solution is to Disable NFC via setting menu/widget when not in use.

Howdy Readers and Friends,

It has been observed by us that everytime Google annouces an Android Version Upgrade, almost all curious droid users start hitting the search engines and start hunting the tentitive dates for there updates. Intrestingly, we observe that the Google Nexus users recieve the updates Immidiatly, whereas the other device users, some has to stay satisfied with the very low update process from the the manufacturer and others are highly disappointed with the official announcments of the company.

This time we have real bad news for SONY ERICSSON XPERIA ARC S, XPERIA MINI PRO, LG OPTIMUS 2X and OPTIMUS BLACK users as our sources reported us that the manufacturers denied for providind the firmware upgradation to these devices.

Starting with the Sony Ericsson, the two devices which hit the Market in the year 2011, Xperia Arc S and Xperia Mini are now neglected by the manufacturer to provide an Official Jelly Bean Update(Android 4.1) to these devices.

Similarly, the leading device manufacturer LG, announced not to upgrade its two formal flagships LG Optimus 2x and LG Optimus Black with the Official Ice Cream Sandwich(Android 4.0) support.

Dont you guys think its unfair on the manufacturers’ part? Doesn’t the users deserve an updated firmware? Do the Manufacturers’ just have to concentrate over announcing and releasing new devices? forgetting there responsiblity over there previous releases. We’ll b eagerly waiting for all of your views on this.
